| Super Bowl I | L.A. Raiders vs. Chicago Bears (Bears win in OT by 3) |
| Chris coached the Bears while Patrick coached the Raiders. Bailey was the Super Bowl MVP for a 20 yard run into the end zone with one second left sending the game into overtime. | |
| Super Bowl II | Denver Broncos vs. N.Y. Giants (Broncos win) |
| John coached the Giants while Denver was coached by computer. John was fined and not allowed to be part of the third season of play because he attempted to sabotage the Super Bowl. | |
| Super Bowl III | Houston Oilers vs. N.Y. Giants (Giants win) |
| For the first time, neither Chris, Patrick, nor John coached one of the Super Bowl teams. It was an upsetting year for Chris as his Bengals only won three games during the year before Chris quit. Patrick's Redskins were expected to win the Super Bowl but they were upset by Dallas in the playoffs. | |
| Super Bowl IV | K.C. Chiefs vs. S.F. 49ers (49ers win) |
| Chris was the coach of the Bears while Patrick coached the Chiefs to the Super Bowl but could not pull off a victory. This was Patrick's second appearance in the Super Bowl. | |
| Super Bowl V | Bills vs. S.F. 49ers (49ers win) |
| Chris did not make the playoffs coaching Dallas. Patrick coached the Falcons to the NFC championship game but lost to the 49ers. | |
| Super Bowl VI | L.A. Raiders vs. S.F.49ers (49ers win) |
| 49ers win their third straight. Patrick coached the Lions and Chris coached the Bears. These two teams met in the playoffs and thanks to a Bailey return (first ever kickoff return in the NFL) the Bears won. Bears went on to lose against the 49ers by 3. | |
| Super Bowl VII | Eagles vs. Broncos (Eagles win) |
| Chris did not get to the playoffs with the Rams. Patrick coached the Redskins and was beat in the playoffs by the Bears. 49er's three year Super Bowl Championship finally is halted. | |
| Super Bowl VIII | Giants vs. L.A. Raiders (Raiders win) |
| Chris did not get to the playoffs for the first time with the Bears, but he did beat the 49ers. Patrick lost to the Raiders in a game that included four Denver fumbles. | |
| Super Bowl IX | Packers vs. Bills (Packers win by 3 in OT) |
| Patrick wins his first Super Bowl. His Green Bay Packers upset the S.F. 49ers and the Buffalo Bills. Chris quit the L.A. Rams after winning one of his first ten games. The fumbling plague in L.A. was too much for Chris to bear. | |
| Super Bowl X | Rams vs. Broncos (Broncos win) |
| Patrick could not return his Packers to the Super Bowl. He was defeated by the Rams in the playoffs. Chris guaranteed a playoff birth for the Bears and came through but was defeated by the 49ers. Chris claims that the Rams reached the Super Bowl only because of the skills and talents he left with them the year before. | |
| Super Bowl XI | Bears vs. Oilers (Bears win) |
| Chris was the Bucs and Patrick was the Cowboys. Chris did not make it to the playoffs and Patrick was defeated by the Bears in the playoffs. Ten years after their first Super Bowl victory, the Bears win Super Bowl XI under a coach other than Chris. | |
| Super Bowl XII | Giants vs. Jets (Giants win) |
| Patrick coached his New York Jets to the Super Bowl but lost to the Giants. This was an all NY Super Bowl. Chris coached the Vikings and made it to the playoffs but was defeated by the Giants. | |
| Super Bowl XIII | 49ers vs. Raiders (49ers win) |
| Chris coached the Bears while Patrick coached the Cardinals. This year saw the "Shady Deal", a ruthless attempt by Patrick to ruin Chris' reputation as a coach and person. The "Shady Deal" backfired and ended up hurting both reputations. This year also saw Chris resign from being the head coach of the Bears ever again. He did not make the playoffs while Patrick's Cardinals were beaten by the Eagles. | |
| Super Bowl XIV | Bears vs. Broncos (Bears win) |
| Patrick coached the Chicago Bears and won the Super Bowl hands down. The combination of Tomzack, Bailey, Anderson, and Singletary was too much for any team to stop. Chris coached the Vikings but did not make the playoffs. | |
| Super Bowl XV | Bears vs. Oilers (Bears win) |
| Again Patrick's Bears were unstoppable. The Bear's won the Super Bowl again, but winning two Super bowls back to back caused many questions to rise on the legality of the Bear's team. Patrick subbing Bailey as receiver and Tomzack at quarterback gave the Bears too many weapons. Defense: Singletary along with a very strong secondary. Receiving: Bailey and Morris. Quarterback: Tomzack was rated one of the leagues best. Running: Anderson: possibly the best and fastest in the NFL. This combination of power was the cause of several new and changed rules. One of which made the Bears an illegal team. Chris was Pittsburgh but did not make the playoffs. | |
| Super Bowl XVI | Bills vs. 49ers (49ers win) |
| Chris coached the Steelers again but was cut short of the playoffs by one game. Patrick coached the Browns and barely made the playoffs by one game. The last game of the season turned out to be the Steelers verses Browns. The winner went to the playoffs, the looser went home. Patrick was defeated in the playoffs by the Giants. | |
| Super Bowl | Bengals vs. Vikings (Bengals win) |
| Chris finally returns to the Super Bowl only to be defeated by the Bengals, a team who beat the Vikings as well as Patrick's Redskins in regular season. Chris lost the Super Bowl by 2 points. Patrick coached the Redskins and made it to the NFC championship but was defeated by Chris' Vikings. This season's playoffs are being called the best ever. Every game was excited and down to the wire. Come backs, overtimes, and crucial missed and blocked field goals, made this playoff series one of the best. | |
| Super Bowl XVIII | Bills vs. 49ers (49ers win) |
| Chris coached the Cowboys while Patrick coached the Cardinals. Both teams went to the playoffs. Chris was defeated in the second round by the Giants. Patrick lost in the first round by the Bears. | |
| Super Bowl IXX | Bills vs Eagles (Bills Win!) |
| The Bills finally get their hard earned victory for a Super Bowl. Chris and Patrick suffer amnesia from a car wreck leaving them completely removed from this year. | |
| Super Bowl XX | Bills vs 49ers (49ers win) |
| Chris coached an excellent Buccaneer team defeating the Giants in the playoffs, but unable to match the firepower of the 49ers. Patrick was the Browns getting upset in the first round by Dan Marino & company. | |
| Super Bowl XXI | Raiders vs. 49ers (49ers win) |
| Chris coached the Cowboys to their best season ever. They made it to San Fransico in the NFC Championship game. Unfortunately they lost in OT after they went 3 and out in their first OT possession. Patrick coached the Rams in a promising season but was defeated by the Giants in the first round of playoffs by the Giants. | |
| Super Bowl XXII | Raiders vs. Bucs (Raiders win) |
| Chris was the Redskins in a season of possibilities but lost to the Bucs (who went on to win the NFC title after suprising the 49ers). Patrick was the Bengals and lost to the Raiders in the first round. Patrick's relationship with Fulcher grew tremendously this year. Their friendship lasts even to this day. | |
| Super Bowl XXIII | Bills vs. Giants (Bills win) |
| Chris coached the Bucs but got absolutely nowhere and did not make the playoffs. Patrick coached the Bengals and got to the playoffs only to be defeated by the Bills in the AFC Championship. The game was ended by a Thurman Thomas run which won the game. If he had been held, the Bengals would have been picked to win the Big Dance. | |
| Super Bowl XXIV | Dolphins vs. 49ers (49ers win) |
| Chris' coaching is in a terrible slump. Again he does not make the playoffs coaching the Cowboys. However, at least 4 games were lost in the last two minutes of the games because of a int. or fumble. Patrick's Redskins looked destined for great things after finishing 12-3-1. But they lost to the Vikings in a huge upset in the fourth quarter. This was the first time the Dolphins got to the Super Bowl. | |
| Super Bowl XXV | Steelers vs 49ers (Steelers win) |
| The 25th Anniversary year saw a fitting end. After a long drought, one of the Super Bowl teams was coached by Patrick or Chris. This year it was a Cinderella story, Patrick took his 8-8 Steelers to the Super Bowl and defeated the 49ers. It was the first ever loss by a San Franciso team in the Super Bowl after winning their first 9 times there. It was also the first time an AFC team coached by Patrick or Chris won the Super Bowl. Patrick saw a prolific amount of luck towards the end of the year. For instance, Buffalo had the chance to prevent the Steelers from even going to the playoffs but lost to the Lions in over-time simply because they didn't punt the ball. The Steelers played great defense all year and defense got them to the Super Bowl. Their defense even stepped up a knotch in the playoffs and especially against the 49ers. Jerry Rice was limited to only 3 catches. Meanwhile, Chris's Atlanta Falcons, a team which looked like it was finally beginning to take shape and be a threat in the playoffs, did not get to the playoffs after an upset by Dallas in the last week. This year also has a story for the record book. For the first time ever, a punt was returned for a touchdown. It happened in the Falcon/49er matchup which the 49ers won. | |
| Super Bowl XXVI | Bills vs. 49ers (Bills win) |
| Chris was the Cowboys and had a good year, winning the division. Chris made the playoffs but lost in the first round to the Bears in a game he should have won. Patrick coached the Steelors and had a terrific regular season. The steel curtin was in full force making it easy for Patrick to have the number one rated defense. Patrick lost in the AFC Championship game to the Bills. | |
| Super Bowl XXVII | Oilers vs. Vikings (Vikings win!) |
| Chris was the Vikings and finally won another Super Bowl. Chris had a potent offense with Carter (nick-named the Hoe-train) leading the league in rushing. In the playoffs, everything went Chris' way, including the last play of the playoff game against the Giants in which with no time left on the clock, Viking through up a 100 yard jump ball that was caught. It is now referred to the miracle of 99. Chris then went on to meet a Houston team with a Warren Moon feeling bad. Patrick was the Redskins and also had a great team. It was assumed that either the Vikings or the Redskins would go the Super Bowl. The race for the rushing title was between Sanders of the Redskins and Carter of the Vikings. Patrick also had more jump balls caught in this season than had ever been seen before. Patrick lost in the playoffs before reaching the NFC Championship game. | |
| Super Bowl XXVIII | Chargers vs. 49ers (49ers win!) |
| Chris returned to the Vikings and had a great regular season, only to lose in the playoffs. Patrick was the Bengals and went to the Playoffs but lost. Unfortunately, due to bad record keeping, little more is known about this season. | |
| Super Bowl IXXX | Bills vs. 49ers (Bills win) |
| Bills get a Super Bowl win over the 49ers. Chris was the Cowboys and made it to the NFC Championship game but lost to the 49ers. This was the second time that Chris took the Cowboys this far and the 49ers beat him both times. Patrick went 0-3 with the Cardinals and left to be the Steelers, another 0-3 team. Patrick turned their season around and took them to the playoffs. It was expected that Chris and Patrick would meet each other in the Super Bowl. Both teams had excellent chances to win their Conferences, but both lost in the NFC Championship game. This was the closest that the two had come to meeting in another Super Bowl since Super Bowl I. | |
| Super Bowl XXX | Oilers vs. 49ers (49ers win) |
| Chris – Bengals, beat by Houston in the playoffs Patrick – Saints – NFC Championship but lost. | |
| Super Bowl XXXI | Bengals vs. Cowboys (Bengals win) |
| Patrick beats 49ers with jump ball called miracle of 2000 in NFC championship sending Cowboys to first ever super bowl. Patrick loses. Chris was Washington and lost to 49ers in 2nd round of the playoffs. | |
| Super Bowl XXXII | Oilers vs. Redskins (Redskins win) |
| Chris was Cowboys – takes them to playoffs after 0-4 start – loses in 1st round to Chicago. Beat Giants and Houston back to back as well a Philly. Patrick – Redskins – Super bolw champions 5th time. Beat Giants in NFC Championship Swept Cowboys. Beat Chicago and ny giants in NFC championship. Berat Houston in super bowl. | |
| Super Bowl XXXIII | Oilers vs. Vikings (Vikings win) |
| Triumphant return of Tecmo Bowl at the new Solarc super dome. Chris was the Cowboys and lost in the NFC Championship game against the Vikings. Patrick was Steelers and lost to the Oilers in the second round. Both had first round byes. Daniel was the Chiefs and only won 3 games but improved towards the end of the year. Steelers lose in OT. Dallas loses E Smith and lost a close one 10-13. Patrick beat Redskins 21-20 after spotting the skins 20. Last play, skins couldn’t find the field goal selection on the menu in time. Steeler vs Cowboys was a defensive classic. Steelers won 6-3. | |
| Super Bowl XXXIV | Dolphins vs. 49ers (49ers win) |
| Daniel was the Bills and came close to making the playoffs, but a costly loss against the Patriots sealed the deal for the young coach. Chris was the Falcons and due to a record number of 5 – 8 teams in the NFC, he was in the playoff hunt until the final week of the season. However, Andre Rison got injured in the 2nd to last game of the year (against the Seahawks) and they just couldn’t pull it off. A loss to New Orleans (played by Daniel) was extremely costly. After a fumble recovery the Falcons player attempted to high step into to the end zone but was caught on the 1. The offense could not punch it in on 4 plays. N.O. won the game on the last play with a 45 yard thrilling reception in which Coach Hanisch attempted to knock Daniel’s joystick out of his hands, but Daniel’s grip was too strong and the Saint’s scored. Another costly loss was to the Seahawks who took the game to OT on the last play of the game and then won. Patrick was the Redskins and was running of a high octane offense. Losing only 2 games in the regular season he was got a bye in the playoffs and then pummeled the Rams. In the NFC Championship game, the Redskins faced the 49ers. On the opening kickoff, the Redskins fumbled, then recovered, then returned the kick for a touchdown. However, the rest of the game was dominated by the unstoppable 49ers who ended up winning 24 – 14. | |
| Super Bowl XXXV | Oilers vs. Rams (Oilers win) |
| Daniel was the Bills again despite the rules saying you must win the Super Bowl to repeat as coach. Chris coached Cincinnati and Patrick coached the Rams. Daniel gave Chris his first loss in the regular season when they met as division leaders. Patrick appeared to be headed for an undefeated season with brilliant positioning of players who are prone to fumbling. Late in the season the only team who could stop this run was the 49ers (played by Daniel). In a tight game the Rams appeared to seal the deal with very little time on the clock. However, Daniel ran the ensuing kickoff into Rams territory and Jerry Rice did the rest. The game went into overtime where the 49ers won the toss and were able to kick a field goal to win it, ending the hopes of a perfect season. Daniel made the playoffs for the first time, but was defeated by the Oilers. Chris got a bye in the playoffs and made it to the AFC Championship game but was also defeated by the Oilers. Patrick got to the Super Bowl but was also defeated by the Oilers. It was an exciting and close Super Bowl. Turn-overs cost the Rams big. However, with no time on the clock, the Rams could take the game to overtime with a touchdown. They were stopped short, however, on the one yard line; which eerily resembled the NFL Super Bowl (Rams vs Titans (formerly the Oilers)) but with the outcome favoring the Oilers. | |
| Super Bowl XXXVI | Bengals vs. Giants (Giants win in OT) |
| This was a disappointing ending for all three coaches, as no one won a playoff game. Daniel was the 49ers and made it to the playoffs. They cruised for most of the year controlling the first round bye for most of the season, but eventually lost the spot to the Bucs. They were defeated in the wild card game against the Bears. Chris coached the T.B. Buccaneers in what appeared to be a sure road to the NFC Championship game. The Bucs went 12-4 in the regular season and earned the first round bye in the playoffs, but lost to the Saints. The Saints had the Buc's number this year, in the regular season, the Saints handed them their only crushing defeat of the year, beating them by nearly 30 points. In the playoffs the Bucs looked for revenge but a Vinny Testiverde fumble that led to a short field and TD for the Saints was too much to overcome. They lost 24 -14. Patrick coached the G.B. Packers in a year he would like to forget. He did not make the playoffs for the first time in many years. In the 8 games he played against Chris, he lost all 8 games, a streak which is considered a record. It was the year of killer fumbles for Glover as well as several last second defeats as a result of jump/diving catches in the end-zone for the apposing team. | |
